Homeland Security India has created an advisory board to ensure the event delivers the right content and experience for both exhibitors and visitors. Members of the advisory board are as follows.
MAJ GEN ANUKUL CHANDRA, AVSM (RETD)
Maj Gen Anukul Chandra, AVSM (Retd) has a military career of over 37 years. He is a post graduate automobile engineer and a super specialist on armoured fighting vehicles. Commissioned in the Corps of Electrical & Mechanical Engineers in June 1971, he took active part in the War of Liberation of Bangladesh in Dec 1971. He is a graduate of Defence Services Staff College and National Defence College. He has attended several AFV related courses in India, UK and Czechoslovakia.
He commanded an EME Battalion in an Armoured Division and has been responsible for major weapon systems in different capacities. He has served in and has commanded an army base workshop engaged in overhaul and upgrade of tanks and ICVs. His last appointment was Additional Director General Equipment Management (Dy MGO) at the Army HQ where he was responsible for in service management, overhauls and upgrades of all weapon systems of the army. He has held several command, staff and instructional appointments during his distinguished service. He has also been the Deputy Military Attache in the Indian Embassy, Moscow.
During his tenure as the Deputy Military Attache, Moscow he evaluated various upgrades of tanks and ICVs. He was also participated in evaluation of T 90 tank and MBRL SMERCH for the Indian Army. For his distinguished service of a very high order, he was conferred the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) by the President of India in 2006.
Since retirement in July 2008, he has been active participant in Defence Academia and is a distinguished speaker in various international defence conferences. He has been adviser to the Ordnance Factories Board and other business houses in India and abroad.
Cmde Ranjit Rai
Cmde( Retd) Ranjit Rai is a Navigator and Air Force trained Air Controller. Attended Yarrow Shipyard, HMS Dryad and RN Staff College UK and has Commanded 3 ships and India’s Naval Academy. Served as Director Operations(DNO) and Intelligence (DNI) at NHQ and as Defence Adviser in the Indian High Commission Singapore and South East Asia for 4 years with visits to Australia USA and China.
Completed Ship Management Course at IIM Ahmedabad, and served as Indian Rep for USA’s largest LASH Project carrier Waterman Steam Ship Corporation till 2003 which also had ships leased to US Military Sea Lift Command.. Presently Vice President Indian Maritime Foundation, an NGO which deals with Maritime and Security issues. Writes, as an Author of four books including a Nation and Its Navy at War. Defence Analyst and Broadcaster. Speaker on maritime, military, nuclear, and energy issues. In 2009 visited shipyards, ports and think tanks in China.
